"Each year, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires communities to do a point in time count of homeless individuals. Youthworks staff, interns, and youth advisory board members covered the community of Bismarck from 3 am to 5 am on January 23rd to identify homeless people.
Rachel Monge from the Great Plains Food Bank joined them in the project that was coordinated by the Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless People, Inc. Tanya Smith and Leann from Salvation Army covered locations in Mandan at the same time, while other volunteers from the Coalition will be making contacts during the daytime."
